PACIDA operates within Marsabit County (Marsabit Central, Marsabit North, Marsabit South, North Horr, Loiyangalani, Sololo and Moyale) in Northern Kenya and Moyale, Dirre and Miyo Woredas in Southern Ethiopia.

Northern Kenya and Southern Ethiopia are among the poorest areas in the region, with its vast majority of the population living beneath the poverty line. School infrastructure is minimal, with few schools and poor road access networks. The lack of infrastructure and investments and declining formal opportunities to earn an income severely impact residents’ ability to provide food, education and healthcare for their families.
